Have you ever experienced setting some goals and then magically seeing them come to fruition? It’s like they didn’t require much effort—they just magically happened. Twice a year, I do an exercise where I look at my vision and do a retrospective. One year, I experimented by laying out my goals for the year and dating when I expected them to be realised.

Normally, I leave my goals there, knowing they process in my mind. Six months later, during my next retrospective, I discovered that most of my goals had been achieved almost exactly when I had planned, and it felt effortless. This realisation amazed me, and I reflected further to understand what was happening. Here’s what I discovered about materialising goals:

1. Expect Your Goals to Happen

Setting your goals is the first step, but expecting them to happen is crucial. Hold yourself accountable for making them real. This expectancy creates a mindset that aligns your actions and thoughts toward achieving your goals.

2. Act on Inspired Action

Inspiration from within drives your actions. Think about how inspiration feels—it’s a positive, forceful energy that feels good and pulls you forward. Acting on inspired action feels effortless and enjoyable, unlike forcing yourself through heavy, uninspired tasks.

3. Let Go of Rigid Expectations

Release the importance of reaching your goals exactly as you planned. Flexibility opens up new possibilities and paths you might not have considered. By letting go, you allow your goals to manifest in potentially better ways than you initially imagined.

When materialising your goals, either at work or in personal life, notice your energy level and whether you are acting on inspiration. Expect your goals to happen, but stay flexible about how they will materialise. This approach can make achieving your goals feel effortless and even magical.
